4/11/2017 Presque Isle Clean-up
Worried about your beach body progress? It’s about that time of year again when people realize the holiday treats might not have been worth it after all. It’s okay though! We have a way for you to enjoy beach season from a different perspective, and before bathing suit weather even starts. Taking time aside to worry about the progress of our parks is important and can provide insight to local pollution that you were not aware of, as well as how to fight against it.
Living in Erie we are all free to enjoy Presque Isle State Park, which is an awesome opportunity for our community to make memories with our loved ones. The park is a part of most of our childhoods, and for that we love it. The park and its dedicated staff have served our community for generations, and it deserves our respect and dedication in return.
Here’s our chance! Saturday April 22nd from 9:00AM to noon will be the annual spring beach clean-up at Presque Isle State Park. Registration will begin at 9:00AM at the Rotary Pavilion, and a lunch will be served to all registered volunteers at 10:30AM. Please visit the website attached for more details on the event, as it is a great opportunity to take care of one of our local treasures and keep Presque Isle beautiful for all summer use.
Keep in mind that this event can be a social one! Make it a team effort by posting a sign-up sheet at work, or turn it into a family affair by motivating your household to participate. This is a great way for kids to recognize the importance of park maintenance and care, and the negative effects of pollution and littering but keeps it fun with contests involving interesting articles of trash. Remember to be hydrated before you go and wear sunscreen. We wouldn’t want you to be sunburned before beach season starts!
